If there's one thing we Indians have here in America it's opportunity. Lot's of it. In fact, George Bush said last year, "
My Administration is working to ensure that American Indians and Alaska
Natives have access to all the opportunities of this great land." The President said it, so it must be so.
What we don't seem to have, though, is a proper Indian History Month. Yeah, we have that National American Indian Heritage Month thing, but it really isn't like a real "History Month." You know, like the African-Americans have. A whole month when we could sell bookcovers with pictures of Cochise and Pushmataha, and every television station would pause to say something great about the noble savages.
So, we've created our own Indian History Month, and we're selling this t-shirt like nobody's business. Celebrate with us all month (every month). Buy the t-shirt. Get another one for the local library.
The t-shirt is 100% cotton. The shirt is made in a foreign country, but designed and printed by American Indians right here in the U.S.A. Choctaws, in fact. Every one of them is an enrolled tribal member, and none have received any government checks. What gives with that? We thought there were supposed to be checks.
