Not everybody knows that Brooklyn is in New York City. It seems incredible, but they really don't. What's more, a fair number of people who live in Brooklyn do not know that they live in New York City. An informal poll of 37 randomly chosen people on Atlantic Avenue revealed that 4 did not know they were in New York City. 5 had never heard of Al Gore, and 19 could not identify Al Sharpton. All 37 owned televisions.
