Short Answer: Gymnosophical League is a fancy term used a long time ago as an alternative to "nudist society". Yep, bub, we're talking about naked people. Nudists, naturists, or just folks that like to go around with no clothes on.
Longer Answer: America's first organized nudists believed strongly in the principles of physical health, psychological tranquility, and respect for all men and women. They also believed that social nudism, (when practiced under strictly wholesome principles) was a vehicle for realizing these ideals. To represent their movement with dignity early 20th century nudists often chose for their local association names drawn from classical traditions. (Classical Greek athletes competed in the nude. They didn't teach that in 11th grade history class, did they?)
So, why would you want to wear around this t-shirt, as stylish as it may be? Because promoting body acceptance is a good thing. And, because, people will think you're real smart when you explain to them what it's about.
The shirt is 100% cotton because nudists and naturists like natural things. The shirt itself is made in a foreign country (just like gymnosophy began in India and traveled to Greece in ancient times). However, the shirt is printed right here in the U.S.A. for at Local Yokel® for Gymnosophie™, and we always print them while naked. Usually late at night and in the summer.
